1. Purpose
These General Terms and Conditions govern the contractual basis under which Deslocar – Rent a Car, headquartered in Viseu, Portugal, hereinafter referred to as the “Rental Company,” provides vehicles for rent.
The final version of the rental agreement will be formalized at the time of reservation and/or vehicle pickup, containing the specific details of the vehicle, dates, applicable rates, and other specific conditions of the service provided.
2. Rental Period
The rental period begins and ends on the date, at the time, and at the location agreed upon in the contract. Any extension of the rental period is subject to Deslocar’s approval.
3. Rental Price and Payments
The Renter agrees to pay the amounts stipulated in the contract, including rates, security deposits, fees, mandatory or optional extras, and additional costs, when applicable.
4. Vehicle Pickup and Return
The vehicle must be inspected at the time of pickup and returned in the same condition as agreed upon, except for normal wear and tear resulting from proper use.

6. Deslocar’s Obligations
Deslocar undertakes to provide vehicles in good working condition and to offer 24-hour assistance in the event of a breakdown.
7. The Renter’s Obligations
The Renter must use the vehicle in accordance with applicable traffic and safety regulations and may not use it for illegal purposes, racing, subleasing, or the transport of hazardous materials.
8. Insurance and Liability
The included basic insurance covers only damage to third parties (Civil Liability). The Renter is liable for damage caused to the vehicle, unless additional coverage has been purchased.
9. Toll Service
The Renter is automatically enrolled in the electronic toll payment system, and the corresponding amounts, plus an administrative fee, will be billed at a later date.
10. Processing of Personal Data
Deslocar processes the Renter’s personal data in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
11. Jurisdiction and Dispute Resolution
Any dispute shall be submitted to the courts of the District of Viseu. The Renter may appeal to CNIACC. Complaints may also be submitted through the Online Complaint Form.
12. Breach of Contract
Failure to comply with the terms of this agreement may result in the immediate termination of the rental.
13. Security Deposit
Security deposit required when picking up the vehicle:
The security deposit will be refunded within 7 business days after the vehicle is returned, provided there are no outstanding damages, tolls, fines, or special cleaning charges.
14. Cross-Border Use
Use of the vehicle outside mainland Portugal, including Spain or any other foreign country, is subject to the mandatory purchase of the Cross-Border fee.
The Cross-Border fee is 160€. If the Renter notifies us and purchases the coverage in advance at the time of booking or by the time the vehicle is picked up, a 50% discount will be applied, reducing the fee to 80€.
Leaving the country without prior notification or purchase of coverage constitutes a breach of contract and may result in the full fee being charged and additional penalties.

Reservations
Transfer reservations made through our website are processed according to the local time zone (Porto, Portugal). We accept online reservations up to 24 hours before the desired date. For last-minute reservations, the customer must contact Deslocar directly by phone or WhatsApp.
Reservations made by phone or WhatsApp are also subject to these Terms and Conditions.
If the reservation includes two or more passengers, the customer making the reservation assumes responsibility for all others.
Payments
Payments must be settled before the service begins.
The customer may pay 30% of the total amount as a deposit at the time of booking, and the remaining balance up to 24 hours before the service or directly to the driver, in cash (euros).
Luggage
Each passenger may carry up to two pieces of luggage. Extra or bulky luggage must be declared at the time of booking.
Insurance and Guarantees
Deslocar is insured. All passengers and their luggage are covered during the service.
The company is not liable for delays caused by external factors.
Cancellations
Cancellations made up to 24 hours before the service are fully refunded. Cancellations made after this deadline or no-shows are non-refundable.
